Book Review: What In the World is Going On?

With the recent worldwide events, many scholars have offered their interpretation of what the Bible says about End Time events. Eschatology, the study of the "End Times", is itself a subject that could potentially take a lifetime to sort out because of all the different interpretations. To take the time for me to give you an overview of all these would be more suitable for another article---or perhaps to even have a dedicated blog site. But, to get back to the book review, "What in the World..." is based on the dispensational, Pre-Millennial Rapture school of thought. People who subscribe to this school of thought will find this book more interesting than those who do not. The author takes 10 major worldwide events and attempts to align them with some Biblical prophecies. One topic that I find speculative is the power struggle in the Middle East over Israel because, according to the author, there is belief that Israel is sitting on an undiscovered oil reservoir. Even if this may be true, the book does not provide the documentation to support this.
In summary, WWGO is a book that provides an interesting view of Biblical prophecy in light of recent world events. If your view of the End Times aligns with that of the author, then this will be a good book to have in your library. If you are a student of Eschatology, WWGO may be a good reference for describing one point of view End Times, as long as you take the time to look into the other views that are out there.
